Trichur Chaala Curry | Thenga aracha Mathi Curry
Here we are taking a look at a delicious home-style preparation of Sardine Curry (Mathi/ Chaala Curry). This is a Trichur-style Chaala curry, made with ground coconut and fish tamarind(kudampuli). Trichur-style fish curries vary from home to home. They are made with coconut milk or finely ground coconut paste. For sardines, we prefer the ground coconut paste to the coconut milk. It makes a delicious, authentic Kerala-style Sardine curry. Do try it if you love a good Nadan Chaala Curry.
