Thalassery Egg Biryani is the perfect Biriyani, for when you need to feed those who don’t eat, chicken, mutton or seafood. For those of you who raise an eyebrow at the thought of Egg Biriyani, let me make assure you that it is really yummy! No, it does not smell eggy, as we are using Boiled Eggs. Once my husband even commented, “Hey, this turned out tastier than your Thalassery Chicken Biriyani!” I was shocked! My husband loves his Chicken Biriyani. It is also so much easier to prepare!!!
Now, we happened to serve this with my Kerala Chicken Fry. The combination is fantastic! However, this is just perfect with just a good yogurt-onion-tomato Raita, pickle and Pappad.
Thalassery Biriyani is often misconstrued to be a sweet Biriyani by those who are not familiar with Thalassery cuisine. It is indeed a savory Biriyani that gets the sweetness from the fried garnish items (onion, cashew and kismis). It also happens to be so much easier than all the other Biriyani’s. So I hope you will try it! Very pleased to be sharing this recipe with you all!
