Thai Hot and Sour Soup – Tom Yum Goong

Thai Hot and Sour Soup – Tom Yum Goong – The popular soup is very tasty and easy to prepare at home. There are so many varieties of Hot and Sour soup out there. Two soups that immediately come to mind are Indo-Chinese Hot and sour soup and Thai Hot and Sour Soup. I love Tom Yum Soup or Tom Yum Goong. It is made with the exotic flavors of Thailand, that is – Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime leaves, Lime, and Galangal. If you don’t have these ingredients, I’m afraid you can not recreate the soup authentically. They are quite easy to find, these days almost everywhere. Tom Yum Goong is the Thai hot and sour soup made with prawns, whereas Tom Yum Gai is the one made with chicken, in case you’re confused. They are both made quite similarly and you can use the same recipe for both. It’s the tom yum freshly made paste and ingredients that make it so special. Today I am focusing on the most popular, Tom Yum Goong. Use very fresh ingredients here, especially the prawns. They are the star and need to be nice and fresh. This is vital. This is a winning recipe, and I really have to update this picture, as it does not do justice!
