My favourite Kerala Sambar with My Sambar Masala Recipe.

Sambar is a popular South Indian pottage of sorts. It consists of a spicy and sour dal stew with a medley of vegetables. Many homes in South India make Sambar every day for breakfast.  Pigeon peas (Tur Dhal),  Raw asafoetida, Tamarind pulp and a Special spice mix  (Sambar Masala) are the key ingredients to making a good Sambar.  This is my favourite recipe. I make my own Sambar Masala powder (recipe included) and use it to make a very simple but very Tasty Kerala Sambar.
