The Best Green Chutney Recipe

Ingredients
Fresh coriander leaves ( not too much stem ) | 80 gms | |
Fresh Mint leave | 2 Tbsp | |
Hot green chilli | 1 small | |
Garlic | 1 large clove | |
Ginger ( same size as garlic ) | 1 piece | |
Thick yogurt | 1/2 cup | |
Sour cream | Up to 6 Tbsp | |
Kala Namak / Black Salt or as needed | 1/2 tsp | |
Cumin seeds | 1/2 tsp |
Method:
- Rinse and Spin the fresh coriander and mint, to remove water. Add to a blender.
- Add the garlic, ginger, green chilli and yogurt. Yogurt must be thick and not runny.
- Next add the sour cream fresh lime juice,Kala namak and cumin seeds.

Notes:
- Kala namak / Black salt is essential for an authentic green chutney. Don’t add too much of this. If you don’t have it, use regular sea salt.
- Don’t use bottled lime juice.
- Herbs must be really fresh.
Key Ingredients: Coriander (Cilantro), Mint, Yoghurt, Sour Cream, Lime/lemon, Black salt, Garlic, Ginger, Green Chilli.
