Strawberry Lassi Recipe
The original ‘Smoothie’ flavored with strawberry
Ingredients:
yoghurt - use fresh store bought yoghurt and not the overly sour kind. | ¾ cup | |
of cold milk | Just a little over ½ cup | |
ice cubes | ½ cup | |
sugar | 2 ½ Tbsp | |
ripe and firm strawberries plus a few for garnish | 5 medium sized | |
a few mint leaves | For garnish : |
Method:
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly. Remove the leafy stem.
- Add the yogurt, milk, sugar, and strawberries to a blender and blend till absolutely smooth and frothy.
- Add the ice cubes and blend till the ice cubes are incorporated, smoothly as well.
- Garnish with sliced strawberry and mint leaf.
- Serve Immediately. Use a straw if you don’t want a strawberry mustache!

Strawberry Lassi Recipe
Notes:
- Instead of fresh yogurt, you could also use plain sweetened yogurt. In this case, omit the sugar.
- Some like honey in place of sugar for their Lassi. I prefer sugar.
- Lassi must be served immediately as it loses its super creamy froth after sitting.
- Milk and yogurt must be chilled, to begin with. Lassi just ain’t so great if it’s not cold.
- If you want your Lassi, pinker add more strawberries and adjust the sugar accordingly. I find, however, that 5- 6 strawberries are sufficient for great tasting Lassi.
