Saudi Champagne

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 5 mins Total Time 25 mins
Servings: 12

Description

Saudi Champagne is a signature non-alcoholic mocktail that is a staple of Saudi Arabian hospitality. Despite the name, it contains absolutely no alcohol; the "champagne" label refers to its elegant, bubbly appearance and the sophisticated way it is served—often in a glass pitcher or even champagne flutes.

Instructions

Video
  1. Rinse and pat dry apple and orange.
  2. Do not peel the fruits. Cut with the skin into thin round slices.
  3. Add the juice of half the lemon - over the apple sliced to prevent discolouration. Toss.
  4. Add Apple slices, Orange Slices, Mint and the remaining 'half lemon' (juice or sliced) into a large pitcher.
  5. Pour the COLD apple juice to fill the jug. Leave for flavours to infuse for 20 minutes.
  6. Add ice into serving glasses. Pour the juice about halfway or three-quarter way up and top up with the 7 up. Serve cold, garnished with a slice of fruit and a mint leaf.
  7. It's so very refreshing on a hot day or evening. The sliced fruit steeped in the juice tastes great too!

Note

  • Use red apples that are nice and sweet.
  • Use an Orange that is juicy and sweet, but do not squeeze the juice into the pitcher. We want clean slices.
  • The quantity of apples should be slightly more than oranges.
  • The slices must not be too thin.
  • Instead of 7 Up, you can try lemonade as well.
  • Key Ingredients: Apple Juice, Apple, Orange, Lemon, Mint, 7 Up.
