Prawn Party Appetiser -‘ Prawns the Star! ‘
Description
This vibrant appetizer is a showstopper, combining the tart sweetness of starfruit with the savory tang of prawns. It's perfect for a party to brighten things up!
Ingredients:
Instructions
-
Heat a small non stick pan. Lay the prawns flat, evenly spaced as the pan heats up.
-
Use your pepper mill, to cover with black pepper. Also add sea salt to taste.
-
When the pan is hot, add the pineapple juice and cook the prawns, till just opaque and the juice has evaporated. Less than 2 minutes.
-
Remove the prawns, wipe clean the pan and add the coconut oil.
-
Once the oil is hot, add the curry leaves and red chilli. When they become bright in color, add the sliced star fruit. Cook till they are slightly golden along the edges and flavoured with the oil and ingredients.
-
Now return the prawns, and fry till they develop a light crust. Just a minute should be more than enough. (Add more pepper and salt, if needed).
-
Place one prawn on one grilled slice of starfruit with some of the curry leaves and chilli as desired. Serve while still hot with a cocktail pick through the middle.
Note
- Notes: If you can’t find starfruit, you could use crisp slices of green mango in it’s place.
- Key Ingredients: Prawn, Starfruit, Red chilli, Curry leaves, Pineapple Juice, Salt Pepper, Coconut oil.
Looks absolutely wonderful, Shana. I just love the simplicity of it, and must see if I can find starfruit here.
