Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 20 mins Cook Time 10 mins Total Time 30 mins
Servings: 24

Description

Ultimately, the perfect chocolate cookie is a matter of personal preference. What one person considers to be the perfect cookie, another might find too sweet, too chewy, or not chocolatey enough. The beauty of the chocolate cookie is that it can be customized to suit any taste.

Here is a classic recipe, that I love!

Ingredients:

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180ºc.
  2. Sift the flour with baking soda and ( salt if using unsalted butter) into a wide-mouth bowl; I like to sift 2 times.
  3. In a mixer/processor with a whisk attachment, or using a hand-held mixer beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla extract till nice and fluffy.
  4. Proceed to whisk in the eggs one at a time.
  5. Now fold in the flour by hand with a spatula till incorporated.
  6. Then fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Drop heaped spoonfuls of batter onto a baking sheet lined tray, evenly spacing them so they don’t flow into each other.
  8. Bake for around 9-11 minutes on the middle rack of the oven. Leave in the oven for 2 minutes to cool.
  9. Lift the baking sheet onto the kitchen counter to cool for a while and when cool enough to handle, transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Note

  • Butter – (I use salted butter every time) If using unsalted butter please add ¾ tsp salt to the flour.
  • These are very simple to make, Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies.
  • I like to store them in a cookie jar or tin.
  • Try heating them for a change in the microwave for just a few seconds to melt the chocolate ever so lightly and provide a yummy warm cookie with a glass of cold milk!!
  • Ingredients: Flour, Chocolate Chips, Sugar, Butter, Eggs, Baking Soda, Vanilla Extract, Optional Nuts, Salt.
