Garlic Chilli Cheese Buns (Pull apart)
Description
Making Pull-Apart Chili Cheese Buns with ready-made buns is a brilliant "cheat code." Since you aren't baking the bread from scratch, the focus shifts to creating a flavor-packed infusion and achieving the perfect melt.
Ingredients:
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 200 c.
-
Slice without cutting through - each bun vertically once and then horizontally 3 or 4 slits.
-
Place the buns on a tray, lined with parchment paper.
-
In a small frying pan, heat the oil and briefly stir-fry the garlic till light golden in colour. Garlic should not go dark, or it will taste bitter and bad.
-
Quickly, pour the garlic and oil into a small heat-resistant bowl to keep the garlic from getting brown.
-
Add the chilli flakes and herbs, and a little salt. Stir well.
-
Spoon the garlic and oil into all the slits on the bun (both vertically and horizontally, careful not to pull apart the bun in the process).
-
Fill the same spots with cheese.
-
Place the tray in the oven on a middle rack and bake just till the cheese melts.
-
Serve immediately.
Note
- Hot dog buns may be replaced with any other soft buns, like burger buns or dinner rolls.
- If you don't have Italian mixed herbs, you can use dried oregano or basil.
- Add a cooked sausage before topping with cheese for a cheesy garlic hot dog.
- Make sure the oven is preheated well. We don't want to bake very long, but the high heat will get the buns toasted properly as the cheese melts.
- I like to drizzle a little Olive oil on the baking sheet and over the buns, before placing the buns, to get the buns a little toasted as they bake.
- Key Ingredients: Buns, Cheese, Garlic, Olive oil, Herbs, Chili Pepper flakes, Salt.
