how to make dancing tea or coffee

Ingredients:

Water 1 cup / 240 mls
Milk 1 cup / 240 mls
Sugar 2-3 tsp
Strong Tea Dust or Coffee 2 tsp

You will need 1 or two saucepans and a milk frother/whisk/beater. Also a large transparent serving cup. Please also, check out the Video on the Intro Page.

Method:

  1. Bring the milk to a boil in a milk boiler or saucepan. Don’t boil too strongly. You just want the milk to reach a boil and be steaming hot.
  2. Separately, boil the water. Add sugar and stir. Add the tea or coffee. Boil till you get a nice strong tea or coffee.
  3. Strain the tea or coffee into the serving Glass. The tea should come about halfway up to a ‘single serve’ large cup.
  4. By now, the milk should have reached a boil. Use a  milk frother to create foam in the steaming milk.
  5. Scoop up the foam without any of the milk and add over the hot black tea/coffee in the cup. Add foam almost up to the top of the glass.
  6. Now invert a spoon over the foam, touching the side of the glass. Pour the hot milk very carefully over the back of the spoon so that it doesn’t mess up the foam, and glides passed to foam layer and over the bottom black tea/coffee layer.
  7. You will see the tea begin to dance! With any movement of the glass, it keeps swaying/ dancing. You need to stir with a spoon when you have had enough entertainment.
  8. Stir, Drink and Enjoy your Dancing Tea!

I always wanted to make this. I followed some older youtube videos, and although it was nice to see . it was so sweet nobody could drink it. But then I followed your recipe, it was a perfect tea that we could drink also. You really are a good teacher.
