Quick Beef Chilli Fry
Fast and hot, this Quick Beef Chilli Fry is a quick-to-make restaurant-style Indo-Chinese dish. Great with plain rice and vegetables, fried rice, roti, parotta. It pleases all the senses.
Chilli powder is used to taste and will obviously have an impact on the end result colour and heat. I make it milder sometimes and spicier when the mood insists on it. You can see the difference in the pics. Which do you fancy more?

How to make Quick Beef Chilli Fry – Recipe at a glance:
- Marinate beef with simple ingredients.
- Chop fresh ingredients.
- Stir fry in sequence – the beef and dry chilli and remove.
- Saute fresh ingredients and season. Return the beef and chillies and toss through. Add cornflour slurry.

Ingredients:
- 3 Tbsp plus 2 tsp Sunflower oil or peanut oil
- 1-2 tsp Dark soy sauce
- 5-10 Dried red chilli, broken – seeds removed to reduce heat
- 2 Tbsp Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Ginger, minced
- 1 Rib Celery, diced very finely
- 4 Tbsp fresh mild red and green chilli combo, sliced
- 3 Tbsp Spring Onion white bulb portion, sliced
- 1 small capsicum, sliced into long pieces
- 1 Tbsp cornflour mixed with 1/2 cup water (Slurry)
- 1-2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder or Korean chilli powder
- 3 Tbsp spring onion greens chopped finely for garnish
To Marinate the Beef
- 500 gms Beef slices (stir-fry beef)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Light soy sauce
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp Coarse black pepper
- 1 tbsp Asian sesame oil
- 1 tsp Cornflour
