Madhura Curry – Sadhya Special (Pineapple Munthiri Madhura Curry)
Madhura Curry or ‘Sweet Curry’ is a wonderfully sweet and slightly sour, curry, laced with minimal spice…that is mostly served for special occasions, especially ‘Sadhya’. Over the years, many people have made it a point to include the Madhura Curry in their Onam Sadhya Menu.
My friend Meera, introduced me to this curry some years ago. It is made with Pineapple, Ripe plantain, and Sweet Rose grapes are added for a burst of color. Coconut and Yoghurt are also added.i
It is similar to preparing Pachadi, and very similar to my Ethakka pachadi, but not as much yogurt is used, so technically it is not a pachadi. The yogurt used should also not be as sour.
