Loc Lac – Bo Loc Lac – Cambodian – Vietnamese – Shaking Beef
This is an absolutely yummy and quick stir fry of beef. It is popular n Cambodia and also in Vietnam, known as Vietnamese Bo Loc Lac ‘ Shaking Beef’.served over a nest of vegetables as desired.

Ingredients:
Marinade:
- 300 gms good quality beef steak, sliced in pieces of desired size (small strips)
- ¼ tsp onion powder or minced shallots
- ½ tsp garlic powder or minced garlic
- 1 tsp light soy sauce
- ½ Tbsp brown sugar
- ½ Tbsp good Fish Sauce
- ½ Tbsp Cornflour
- 1 egg white
- Pepper to taste and salt if needed
Sauce:
- ¹⁄3 cup water
- 2 level Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- ½ tsp fish sauce
- ½ tsp brown sugar
Other:
- 3 Tbsp Oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped finely
- ½ Tbsp cornflour mixed in 1½ Tbsp water – set aside
- sliced cucumber, onion rings, lettuce, tomato , spring onion for garnish etc…
Method:
- Marinate the beef well with the ingredients with hands till well coated with all the ingredients.
- Heat oil in frying pan.
- Add onion and saute till softened. Add garlic and saute well till slightly golden.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry, tossing continuously for a minute or 2 and almost cooked.
- Add the sauce mix a little at a time, checking seasoning of the beef, and cook till the the beef is cooked through.
- Add the cornflour water mix and thicken.
- Arrange the vegetables in a plate.
- Top with the cooked beef.
- garnish as desired
